How to beat jet lag: Tylenol pm and caffeine


I made it to Lisbon OK. The flights went pretty smoothly and I’m enjoying mild sunny weather here in the Portuguese capital. I’ll be flying out tomorrow night to Bissau and should arrive at around 2 a.m. on Thursday.

Right now I’m focussed on trying to get a jump start on beating jet lag. The plan was to pop some Tylenol PMs and go to bed at 8 pm on Sunday – and then wake up at 4 a.m. on Monday. I ended up going to bed at 11pm and waking up at 5:30am. During my SF-to-Frankfurt flight, I took some more tylenol and got a decent amount of sleep. Then, in Frankfurt, I took up three chairs so I could knock out for two hours, then paid $5 for some bad coffee before making my connection to Lisbon. Now it’s all about the caffeine until sometime around midnight tonight when I’ll take some more Tylenol. This is healthy, right? We’ll see if it works.
