Facebook-savvy birthday-wish promoter
Job description: Most people don’t really want more stuff for their birthdays, but they would like the opportunity to make a difference. Now Facebook is making that easy to do: People can ask their friends who visit their page to donate to WAVS as a birthday gift. We need people who are willing to help promote this great idea. The job would involve telling your friends and others about this opportunity and explaining to them how it works. It would also involve thanking both those people who “donate” their birthdays as well as the people who gave in honor of their friend’s birthday. If you like Facebook, this job is for you!
Time commitment: 1 hour per month
Thank You note-writer
Job description: We like to let our first-time donors know they’re special, so that means sending hand-written thank-you notes. If you’re the Christmas-card sender in the family, this job is for you!

Church or community group ambassador
Job description: Many churches and community groups want to help organizations that are having a real impact in the world. So we need to let them know about the work WAVS is doing. This job would involve letting your church or group know about us and act as a liaison for WAVS. If you like people, this job is for you!

Mail manager
Job description: We need help with sending out our monthly newsletters. The job would involve printing receipts and newsletters, as well as placing them in envelopes. If you like mindless tasks that come with a clear sense of accomplishment, this job is for you!
Time commitment: 1-2 hours per month
Accountant
Job description: WAVS is in need of an accountant who is familiar with QuickBooks and likes to crunch numbers. The job would involve updating the books on a monthly basis for both the U.S. bank account and our account in Guinea-Bissau. If you like money – or at least numbers – this job is for you!
Time commitment: 3-4 hours per month
Host a presentation
Job description: A great way to spread the word about WAVS is by hosting a presentation at your house or in a coffee-shop. Invite your friends, family or community group and maybe even throw together some snacks. We’ll swing by and do a presentation about WAVS and answer any questions. If you need an excuse to show off your new coffee table to friends, this job is for you!

Event organizer
Job description: We’ll be hosting more events in the future – and these things don’t organize themselves! This job includes helping plan, prepare, and promote future events. If you like having fun and planning stuff, this job is for you!

Big-Money grant writer
Job description: All those generous foundations out there need to know where to send their money and WAVS needs help letting them know about us! If you have experience with grant-writing, we would love your help. And yes, your nickname will be Big Money.
Time commitment: 2-3 hours/month
Artist/designer
Job description: We could use some help with making our promotional material, Web site and multimedia presentations look pretty. Specifically, we’re looking for photographers, artists, and people who have worked with multimedia. If you hate it when stuff looks ugly, this job is for you!

Lawyer
Job description: Yes, we’re looking for a lawyer. If you have experience with business law and/or nonprofit law, we could really use you on our team. The job would involve occasionally giving advice and helping draft guidelines. If you have a row of thick books in your personal library, this job is for you!

Come visit Guinea-Bissau
Job description: We would love to show you first-hand how WAVS is impacting lives in Guinea-Bissau. You could visit for a week, or stay for a month or longer. We’re pretty flexible. If you don’t mind a few shots and long plane rides, this adventure is for you!
