A SEASON OF GROWTH
Help construct the new WAVS campus in the heart of Guinea-Bissau
WAVS is building a new, 28-acre campus in the heart of Guinea-Bissau that will train five times an many students as we do today. Once complete, the campus will serve more than 2,000 students each year – all while sharing God’s love through word and deed.
Thanks to your generosity, Phase 1 of the campus is complete! The new campus opened it’s doors in April 2022.
Today, we’re working on Phase 2. We have already completed a second classroom building and will be building a new Training Center for welding, civil construction, machining and carpentry training programs.
Scroll down to see an architect’s rendering of these new buildings and take a 3D virtual tour of the future campus.
Phase 1 is Complete
The first building includes two classrooms, a student registration and reception area, and offices for school administrators. The two classrooms have already begun to fill up with students quickly, and we will soon need additional space.
Since the government does not provide consistent water, sewer and electricity services, WAVS has also constructed a 600-foot-deep well and shipped over a 19-kilowatt solar panel system, which will help power the first classroom building.
Phase 2 is Underway
We have already seen strong initial enrollment numbers at the Bissau campus. For this reason, Phase 2 includes a second classroom building to accommodate more students. Phase 2 will also include a new Training Center to house trade-skill programs in welding, machining, civil construction and carpentry.
Donate NowPhase 2 | Classroom Building (Complete)
A 5,000 square-foot building with three classrooms, a “multipurpose room” which can accommodate large classes and events (such as student orientation and graduation) and men’s and women’s bathrooms.
Phase 2 | Training Center
Late 2024
A 16,000-square-foot building with training labs for welding and construction, as well as smaller workshops for machining and carpentry. It also includes offices, classrooms and a large bathroom that will serve as the main restroom for all trade-skill students on the campus.
Future Phases
Over the next seven years, WAVS will complete future phases that will include additional classroom buildings, workshops, a small café, guest house, a small hotel and a main “hub” center for the campus.
Once complete, the campus will be able to train more than 2,000 students every year.
