I’m heading out on a 2 ½ day journey to Guinea-Bissau on Monday morning and am looking forward to the trip. But the biggest challenge will be packing all my luggage for a two-onth stay in Guinea-Bissau while staying under the 55-pound limit on the flight from Lisbon to Bissau. Wish me luck.
What’s most on my mind, though, is thinking about what it will be like to meet some of my old friends again – three years later. I’m especially looking forward to meeting our computer instuctor, John Klit, who I’ve kept in touch with on a regular basis all this time. I consider him a good friend.
I’m also eager to see how the WAVS school is doing. When I visited in February 2008, the school had just started and we only had a handful of auto-mechanic students. Now the school offers four courses and has more than 150 students. I can’t wait to get to know the students, teachers and community leaders and hear about how the school has impacted their lives.
Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers and I’ll be sure to post regular updates here.
