Want to visit West Africa?

I’m heading back to Guinea-Bissau in early April for a six-week trip and am hoping to bring along a group of three to five people for a two-week visit. If you’re interested, please email me before Feb. 12 at info@WAVSchools.org.

The trip will probably happen late April or early May, but is tentatively scheduled for April 21 to May 6. During this time, you’ll get a chance to visit a few great place in West Africa (including Dakar, the so-called “Paris of West Africa” – but really more like the LA of West Africa – and Cap-Skirring, a beach resort on the Senegalese coast), as well as spend eight days in Canchungo, where the WAVS school is located, and two days in the country’s capital, Bissau.

You’ll be able to develop friendships with some of our teachers and students and help the school by encouraging its teachers and leaders – and by helping teach the English class for a few days. The trip will cost between $2,300 to $3,000 (you can see an estimated break-down of costs below). I’m also including a tentative itinerary below.

Feel free to let me know if you have any questions! Even if you’re just considering it as a possibility but aren’t sure if you can make it, please feel free to email me at info@WAVSchools.org.

I’m also planning on making a longer trip to Guinea-Bissau from mid-November 2012 to mid-February 2013. If you’re interested in visiting during that time, feel free to email me now so that I can contact you later. Thanks!
